CIA California Campus Library Learning Commons
Located in the Margie Schubert Library in room 306 of the Greystone main building, the Library Learning Commons offers free tutoring, disability services, and mentoring.
Tutoring Services
Our peer tutors are students who have successfully completed CIA coursework and demonstrated proficiency in that class. Our staff also provides help with time management, study techniques, note taking, test-taking strategies, and organizational skills.
Disability Services
Through the Library Learning Commons at CIA’s New York campus, we provide accommodations and support services for any disabled students. Support specialists are available to discuss specific needs in the classroom, kitchen, and residence hall.
Accommodations may include:
- Readers
- Note taking
- Priority seating
- Enlargement of notes
- Recording lectures
- Audiobooks
- Interpreters
- Testing accommodations
- Assistance with lifting
- Priority registration or residence hall accommodations
After reviewing the documentation and interviewing the student, a disability support specialist will determine and recommend appropriate accommodations for each student’s course of study. The recommended accommodations will be communicated to the student and, with his or her consent, to the Library Learning Commons administrator and the proper personnel at Greystone in order to best assist the student. For more information, please consult our or Academic Catalog.
